# Scales

## What are the scales used for?

The fish scales are used to try your luck at earning more, or less money. To use the scales feature, follow the steps below:

1. Open the scales menu with <mark style="color:orange;">/fish scales</mark>, or through the main menu.&#x20;
2. Drag and drop fish into the GUI. Any and all slots can be used.
3. Pick your scale type: Low, Medium, High or Extreme
4. Press the Anvil to scale your fish.

Once you have scaled your fish, it will gain a random 'weight'. This is directly linked to the price increase, or decrease you obtained. The increase/decrease is **ALWAYS** a percentage based on the fishes normal sell price.

## FAQ

### What if I stack fish together in a single stack?

The scales work in a specific way. If you stack fish into a single slot within the menu, that entire stack will be scaled for the same price.&#x20;

However; if you split them up into different slots, they will all obtain a random scaled price. You can risk the entire stack, or individual ones depending on how you feel.

### Do scaled fish work with the 'Special Fish' in the fish shop?

No. Scaled fish are exempt from the 'special fish' reward, and you will not earn extra money for selling that fish, if it is featured.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://pyrotempus.gitbook.io/pyro-plugins/pyrofishingpro/features/scales.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
